"I moved around a lot. I felt alone a lot. and scared. And weird. I dreamt too big for such a little girl, in such a big world.I wrote sometimes because I had a notebook and nobody else. I wrote until I didn't need anybody else. And then, when it was just me and my stories, I learned that sometimes people could want to hear those stories. To understand the stories.I learned that the most important thing is not when someone understands your stories. It's when your stories make people feel understood." ~ @DebbyRyan via Twitter
When Debby was about seven years old, she moved to Germany. When she lived in Germany, she attended public school and became fluent in the language. It's definitely is a big change to go from living in one country then going to another, but it made her more understanding to the world, as you can probably see from the way she talks and the way she behaves. The reason why she moved to Germany was because her dad was moved because he worked a desk job in the military. She stayed there until she was about 10 then moved back to Texas. She moved to a few places in Texas and eventually met her best friend Emma in seventh grade.
When it comes to her album, it seems like Debby only has good intentions when it comes to the process. You can totally tell by the way she speaks that this move isn't to push her career forward or have her gain more money. The reason why she is making this album is to simply connect people through her music. It's to share something important to her and have people relate to the songs. It's to have people go, "Wow, it's like this song is speaking to who I am". From the sound of it, it looks like Debby has that down. In the past, she has made several songs with her brother and on her own, that we have heard. One of those songs happened to be "Open Eyes", which was meant for her best friend whose mother had cancer. That song was featured in her movie "16 Wishes", but since then, she has heard several things from people saying things like, "Thank you for getting me through this hard time". Debby's songs are already serving the purpose of making people feel understood and helping others. This album is definitely going to have a little something for everyone.
When it comes to the lyrics, Debby exploded with giving us the juicy-ness of that.

When it comes to the lyrics, Debby exploded with giving us the juicy-ness of that.
"Tossing and turning awake in the night,
Helplessly burning up in candlelight
Holding on tightly to all that is real
'Cause when the dark falls, I'll burn what I feel.
I don't think I know
How to rest in the mellow and slow
I just make my bed,
On the storm inside my head
Hours and hours in the day
And the rest I spend awake;
Hours and hours in the night
It's the rest I try to fight.
Nothing can take me,
And less keeps me there,
'Cause sleep is a beast
Polar and bare
The kettle can whisper,
The kettle can shout
The pills can pull
But they always give"
So, are you going to be memorizing these lyrics? Are you excited for what she has prepared for us fans? Was this finally a secret you have been craving for that has been fulfilled? Are you going to pick up her album June 24th?
NOTE: When Debby refers to the "pills", it's not a drug reference. For her insomnia, Debby said that she usually takes herbal pills to help knock her out along with tea, but it usually doesn't work.
